#Makeitmonday: Intro Pages

So you’ve made a contents page on your first single page in the yearbook but what’s next? Instead of jumping headfirst into the student profiles, a nice introductory page makes for a softer transition! As a general rule, your intro page will introduce the title of the book and tell the reader a little about what to expect- a note from your editing team will do just the job (and you’ll get to take credit for the book after all of your hardwork) 
Let’s explore three very different intro pages and have a look at how they’ve been made in our page designer….
DESIGN 1: SIMPLE SQUARES
A lot of the work here is actually in the detail of the background image. The soft swirl creates a nice transitional page that just asks to be turned and the square frames play on the squares incorporated in the background design itself. To get started, you’ll first want to apply the Blue Squares background using the background selector. Now click the Add button at the top of your toolbar and choose add frame. Adjust the size accordingly so you have a nice square and then duplicate this using ctrl +D
DESIGN 2: GOING FOR GRUNGE
This design is not for the faint-hearted and is a little bit fiddly but the effect here is worth it I think! Grab a pen and paper and write down your editors message and also some key words that define your experience at school- a particular party, trips, memorable dates, shows etc. Now you want to add these snippets of text by adding title text boxes. Start constructing a square shape and then rotate some text to form the sides of the cube and keep filling in the areas 
This background ‘Wall‘ can be found in the background selector and you can add the black bands by clicking the add shape button!
DESIGN 3: PALETTE PLAY
This bold, graphic design is a perfect way for your editing team to introduce the project. With a large amount of text space for your thoughts and reflections on the past years, you can each add in a little message to say hello and acknowledge your efforts in putting the book together Start by applying a flat colour to the background (you may need to change your colour palette before this) and then use the add frame button to add in a photo frames for each editor. Now you’ll want to start adding titles using the add title button and a main text box for your introductory message.
To decorate this page, I’ve put together a simple square pattern using the add shape feature. You can duplicate the fill shape you’ve made by clicking ctrl + D and slightly offset them. Now join up the edges of the shapes using a title text box and the humble full stop key!
