Roald Dahl Day – Our Favourite Quotes!

We love Roald Dahl and so do our customers we have found some interesting facts about the genius author, who gave us amazing stories including Matilda and James and the Giant Peach.
We’ve also added in some of our favourite quotes from his books. Book quotes are a great way to fill up empty space in your yearbook, and quotes from Dahl are beloved by all, young and old.

1. Roald Dahl co-wrote the script for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and came up with the creepy character of The Child Catcher.
2. Dahl was a great lover of chocolate. So much so that there was a whole chapter dedicated to it in The Roald Dahl Cookbook.
3. In 2015, The Twits was the most-read book in UK primary schools, after first being published in 1980.
4. In The BFG, Dahl created a long list of words which eventually became the title character’s own language – Gobblefunk.
5. Dahl was a fighter pilot in World War II, and passed intelligence to MI6 from Washington.
